AN AUSTRALIAN rugby league player, who has begged not to be identified, has stunned the professional sporting world by treating a young woman with respect.
The shocking incident took place at a Sydney nightclub where onlookers were paralyzed when they saw the huge 120 kilogram hulk, dressed in a suit that looked two sizes too small, approach a young woman and politely introduce himself.
“I mean, he said ‘excuse me’,” one witness said. “Then invited her to sit with him. You could have heard a pin drop. Everything stopped.”
“Then he bought her a drink and they talked together,” said another. “We just kept watching, waiting for him to do something ugly. But he did nothing. He didn’t even stare at her chest. Periodically, he asked her how she was, and towards the end of the evening, they had a dance together. Then he asked if she could escort her home.”
“Yeah, by this stage,” a barman said, “people were filming it on their phones and sending it everywhere. He was so gentle, so courteous, it was scary. One woman wanted to call the cops. And a man told his wife not to watch.
“Eventually, we had security approach them and they were asked to leave. I mean this place has reputation to uphold. Here, rugby league players grab women, use them, beat them up and sexually assault them before the first drink is finished. This guy was destroying a culture that took decades to build.”
Apparently, once they had left, the rugby league player then fetched the woman’s coat and confirmed that he could escort her home. She nodded and smiled. They took a taxi to her house, and he then escorted her to her door.
“I saw it all from there,” a neighbour of the woman said. “He stood with her at the door, thanked her for a lovely evening. She returned the sentiment. He then asked permission to kiss her cheek. She said yes. He kissed her and asked if he could see her again. She answered in the affirmative once again and he stood until she had let herself in. He waited a little longer, until the lights came on. Then he hailed a taxi and left. It was almost too much to bear. I had to have a drink. You think you have the world figured and it throws something like this at you. Life sucks!”
