FROM OUR VOICE TO PARLIAMENT EDITOR IN OUTBACK SYDNEY
THE ALBANESE GOVERNMENT is planning to re-brand its Voice to Parliament Referendum (“the Voice”) as The Vibe, in order to counter large-scale confusion among the Australian public that the whole business is actually a popular television talent show.
“Some polls say a third of Australians think they’ll be voting on some piece of useless woke,” says Sebastian George, a TV critic.
“Look, we were having difficulty connecting anyway,” admitted an anonymous Government staffer. “And The Vibe has resonance with the great Aussie masses – you know, The Castle, and all that simple blokishness. That movie will give us street cred. So, from here on, The Voice will be The Vibe, if Albo doesn’t lose his nerve. I think your average Aussie will raise a glass to The Vibe whereas he might just turn his back to the The Voice. Christ, we’ve gotta do something. The Voice is hoarse. The Vibe speaks. And maybe it can rescue us from humiliating defeat.”
