“IT WOULD FIT quite well into the centre of the Canadian flag,” insists Helmut (last name withheld for legal reasons) from Montreal, whose father served in the Gestapo for ten years. “The white and the red are already there. The Swastika is a natural replacement for the tired old maple leaf. And it fits in with the general tone of modern Canada: Intolerant Chic.”
Helmut, who says his father was a gentleman who loved his family right up to the moment the trap was sprung on the gallows, insists that modern Canada, with its euthanasia and cancel culture, and re-education sentences, bears a soft resemblance to Germany of his boyhood. “Or the Soviet Union, I suppose. Anyway, they were two sides of the same coin and they both did what they did with the best of intentions.”
He says he was surprised at the open support for Nazism displayed in the Canadian Parliament, but that given all that has happened under Justin Trudeau, not totally. “You hope for something but when it actually happens you are still taken aback. My father used to say those Galician SS boys, they were some soldiers. Nice to see they are finally appreciated. Just a pity dad isn’t here to see it all.”
++Dear reader, although our staff initially refused to do any more pieces on Canada, we have managed to bribe them into relenting, given the current circumstances and the deliriously stupid political class currently in charge of that country – ED.
