NEW EVIDENCE FROM the James Webb Space Telescope suggests that the universe may be older than we first thought.

“Or our models are all wrong,” says Dr Armstrong Spock, a world-renowned cosmologist . “We’re discovering galaxies that appear to pre-date the Big Bang; so either the Big Bang Theory as we know it is incorrect or old lady universe has been playing fast and loose with her age.”

Some of the most distant galaxies seem to be far too large for the time they had to form. Scientists are busy trying to make sense of the data and square it with the current standard model for our universe.

“It’s a bit of a bitch,” insists Spock. “The whole age thing, I mean, not the universe. She’s still a fine lady. Even if she’s bee playing fast and lose with the truth.”
