FANS ASK: IF TV SHOW LITTLE BRITAIN TO MAKE COMEBACK WITHOUT OFFENSIVE HUMOR, WHAT’S LEFT?

ENTERTAINMENT DESK

IT’S STOCK IN trade was cringe-making offensive sketches. It was the modern equivalent of the 19th Century freak show. And it was funny. Not all the time. But most of the time.

Now it is said to be on its way back – presumably if its once feuding stars can be brought together for however long it takes. But the catch is, the offensive humor is said to be out. Fans are horrified.

“They’ll have to call it Woke Britain,” said Syd from Dagenham. “I can’t wait to see What’s Your Pronoun? and I’m the only LGBTQ whatever in the Village. It sounds like a nightmare. Maybe Walliams needs the money after they fired him from that talent show. I know he’s already apologized for playing characters of other races. That’s sad. Comedians apologizing for their material sounds Stalinist. He never apologized to the rest of us for the crap they often had on that talent show he did. He just threw insults at people, didn’t he? Maybe he knew what we all suspected. I don’t know, all we get on TV now is tasteless reheats. Often they’re reheats of reheats. If it were a restaurant no one would touch the food.”
