DONALDSON BAN FROM CONTACT WITH UNDER-16s PROBABLY MEANS NO MEETINGS WITH DUP MEMBERS, INSISTS LAWYER

BELFAST

SIR JEFFREY DONALDSON’S bail condition, prohibiting him from contact with Under-16s, could see him unable to engage with members of the DUP, according to a leading human rights lawyer.

“With the childish attitude of so many DUP members, and their tendency to tantrum when things don’t go the way they want, I’d be advising Sir Jeffrey to steer clear of them, just in case,” says Sean Boru of Boru O’Neill and O’Connor Solicitors. “Anyway, I’d say the party won’t have too many of its people wanting to have a chat and a beer with him. So a wide interpretation of the prohibition will probably suit everyone. If he really wants to be sure, he should probably avoid contact with all extreme-Unionists and Loyalists. They’ve been throwing a tantrum since at least 1886.”
