BONZA RESCUE PROPOSAL COULD SEE AUSSIE BUDGET AIRLINE USED TO TRANSPORT FRENCH ARMY TO UKRAINE

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

STRUGGLING AUSTRALIAN BUDGET airline Bonza could be saved from oblivion if a deal to carry the French Army to Ukraine goes ahead.

French President Macron has indicated that any major breakthrough by Russia in Ukraine would see France send troops to the war-torn country.

At the same time Bonza is in administration desperately looking for a way out.

Financiers have proposed that the French Government hire the Australian Airline to help shift its army to Ukraine.

“It would be called Operation Grande Armee, after Napoleon’s invasion of Russia in 1812,” explained Bud Gecco a vulture fund manager who hopes to make a fortune on any deal. “And, yes, I know what happened to Napoleon’s army. But he didn’t have a financially exhausted Australian budget carrier on his side.”

The Albanese Government in Canberra is said to be sympathetic to the idea, hoping it might repair relations with France after the rift over submarines several years ago. “Look, we might be willing to foot some of the bill, give the Frenchies a leg up,” said a back-bencher. “Vive La France. Vive La Guerre. Bonza, mate.”
