“THE CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE Agency of the United States of America does not have people killed.”

This simple sentence was the CIA’s response to suggestions that it might have had a role in the attempted assassination of Donald Trump.

Supporters of the former president, originally shocked at the incident, are now asking themselves whether the dead shooter acted alone or in concert.

“Well he’s dead so he can’t tell us, can he?” said a Trump loyalist. “So we have to ask, as Cicero did, ‘Cui Bono?’ That’s ‘Who Benefits?’ for Democratic supporters on benefits. No, I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said that. But I’m mad and I’m not going to take it any more. Someone knows what happened and why it happened. Was it the intelligence community? I mean they are so up to their necks in Ukraine that Trump’s peace plans must have them biting their tongues. I just wish they had taken the man with the rifle alive.”
