A LEADING IRISH economist says that the recent release of tickets for the much-hailed reunion tour by the British band, Oasis, caused inflation across the island of Ireland to tick upwards for a short period of time.
“Taylor Swift has been known to move economies when she touches down on tour,” says David McMunchausen-Proxy, whose most famous book Yes, Economics Is Tedious And Quite Frankly Unnecessary remained on the New York Times bestseller list for twenty five years. “Now the Gallagher boys have had a similar effect. And those in government secretly love it. Any time inflation moves up they can blame some ticket sale or other. It’s the gift that just keeps on giving if you’re facing re-election and things are not looking rosy. Blame the ticket touts.”
