A SCIENTIST WHO has spent seventy five years searching, says he has found the apple picked by Eve and given to Adam in the Garden of Eden.
The story of Adam and Eve is told in the Bible’s Book of Genesis. It is never specifically stated that the so-called Tree of Life mentioned in the story, was an apple tree and consequently that the forbidden fruit picked by Eve in defiance of God’s edict that it not be touched, was an apple.
“It was an apple tree, and the fruit was an apple, and more specifically a crab apple, which was why only the one bite was taken from it by each of them,” says Arthur Pippin, an English naturalist who insists that the fruit he has is tens of thousands of years old and has a single male and a single female bite mark on it. “They’re clearly small bites, taken in haste, and regretted immediately afterwards, I’d say, despite the claim that it was pleasant to the eye . The Bible tells us that God said the couple could eat of every fruit but the one in the middle of the garden, indeed they were forbidden to even touch the tree. Well, along comes a serpent – usually interpreted as the Devil – and he tells Eve that she won’t die but that eating the fruit will make them both gods. I have found snake skin beside the apple. They didn’t become gods. They became humans. the worst of all fates.”
