A SUSPENSION IN the tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump on neighboring Canada, is said to have come about when the Canadian side threatened that it would only communicate with the Americans in French as long as the taxes were imposed.

A source speaking to the Kookaburra Bugle from Quebec, said that having to deal with Canadian French – Quebecois – was just too much for the Trump White House, and so it suspended the tariffs immediately on the promise that the Canadians would only speak English to them.

“Americans find languages other than their English hard enough, but that French Canadian stuff, even the French find that difficult,” said a Washington diplomat. “No, there was no choice once those Canadians hit us with the Quebecois.”
