Donald Trump’s plan to sign a deal for rare earth metals with Ukraine, could be the beginning of a new direction in human organisation, as business project rather than community.

“The nation has its limits; business is an open border,” says journalist Stone Forrest, who has been advocating the replacement of modern states with looser commercial arrangements. “As I say in my book It Was Just Business, countries today are inflexible arrangements, the joint commercial venture is a better structure, especially where one party is poor and the other rich. The Donald is trying to offer people a path other than incessant border warfare.”
