FOR THOSE WHO remember New Sweden, the Scandanavian colony based around modern Delaware, a demand that the United States of America hand back the territory will not come as a shock, given Donald Trump’s expression of interest in annexing Canada and buying Greenland.

“The Dutch took it from us, the British took it from the Dutch, and the Americans took it from the British. Now we want it back,” says Mohammed Abba, a historian who lectures in post-modern colonial influences at Lapland Mosque University in the North of Sweden.

“Mr Trump sees no problem in taking Canada and buying Greenland, and even goes along with Putin taking Crimea and the Donbass; so Sweden is now in the ring. If we are successful, we can have an Islamic State based on Swedish Sharia Law up and running by July 4.”
