MONTHS AFTER HE promised to turn Gaza into a Riviera paradise, Palestinian militant group Hamas’ fighters are complaining that Donald Trump is, like every other builder they have ever known, late.
“He said he would transform Gaza,” said Mustafa, from a tunnel under the narrow strip during an Israeli bombardment. “I would have expected something by now. If this were the Chinese, they would have a casino up already. Trump is too busy putting tariffs on his friends to deal with his enemies, I suppose. And he can’t put tariffs on fundamentalist Jihadists, can he?Because we only export death and destruction. Does he want an extra 25% on that? I think not.”
