HUGE NUMBER OF CELEBRITIES WHO TURN UP TO WIMBLEDON CANNOT STAND TENNIS – PSYCH REPORT

BELGRADE, THURSDAY

A LARGE PROPORTION of the celebrities who appear at the Wimbledon Law Tennis Championships every year, do not appear to like tennis, according to a leading psychologist who has spent a decades studying the faces of the luminaries.

Dr Deuce Balls, whose recent book, Game, Set And Scratch My Back, tells the history of the link between dramatic celebrity and sporting achievement, says that ever since the days of the Greeks, actors, writers, producers and the like have all turned up at sporting events to gain credibility.

“There’s a reality about sports that drama doesn’t have. It’s all pretend and even those who are considered heroes on stage or screen, they know deep down that they are fakes, relying on scripts and directors and all that. That’s why you see so many of them appearing at things like Wimbledon. Add in the British royalty and your kings and queens of the stage and screen just cannot resist. And in turn they give Wimbledon and tennis that extra glamour. I mean, you have to admit, a game where two people just keep hitting a ball back and forth across a net at one another needs all the help it can get. No?”
