HAMAS FIGHTERS HAVE nicknamed Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Albo of Gaza, in a reference to cinematic leading man Lawrence of Arabia, after the Aussie leader announced recognition of a Palestinian state.

“Albo U Akbar,” they cried before disappearing into a tunnel in Gaza City.

Hamas has been on the back foot for some time and this support from the Government in Canberra has raised spirits in its ranks and helped it recruit thousands more to its cause.

“El Albo’s support is welcome and we say his name in our prayers before every martyr operation we launch,” said a Hamas officer. “Death to Israel. Would he like to hold some hostages for us? Just for a while. Until the Israelis get tired. Or they are forced to leave by our great international allies.”
