MARKETS LOOKING FOR WAYS TO SHORT US CIVIL SERVICE

WASHINGTON, DC

WITH THE AI sector firing on all eight cylinders – and firing workers too – stock market outliers and contrarians are now looking for instruments to short the US Government, as the current long shutdown appears to have demonstrated that the Federal Civil Service is a giant bubble.

“The shorts are already circling AI, so that’s pretty busy, but there’s a shitload of money to be made if we can get an instrument that will allow us short the US Federal Civil Service,” says Victor Blochyne, an analyst based in Hong Kong. “This current shut down is clearly showing that America doesn’t need its bloated civil service. The country is still functioning. There has to be a fortune in a short position. We’re all crazy looking for an instrument. Maybe the Chinese will take the bet.”
