HUNDREDS OF STAR gazers claim that a display of the Aurora Borealis, seen in Northern Ireland recently, transformed from red white and blue to green white and orange.
The Northern Lights, as the phenomenon is also known, were seen all over Ireland and other areas in the same latitudes, but only observers in Northern Ireland claim to have seen the red white and blue and green white and orange, and in that order.
Curiously, Irish nationalists were the vast majority of those who claimed to see the change of colour; Unionists watching the display unanimously said they saw no change.
“People very often see what they want to with the Northern Lights,” said a scientist who wished to remain anonymous.
