GRIDIRON FOOTBALL FACES its greatest threat in centuries, as a call for a total ban on the sport, deemed too male and too violent, gains traction.

A new pressure group Nobody Wins When Anybody Loses is lobbying state and Federal politicians across the United States to either legislate that all teams be fully *DEI, that every game end without a result and that tackling and blocking, and even kicking and passing the ball – and even the ball itself – be prohibited; or to ban the sport completely as an unacceptable symbol of male chauvinism and violence.

“It’s all testosterone, isn’t it?” said a spokesperson for NWWAL. “And the ball is a symbol of male oppression of women. The egg shape being thrown all over the pitch is clearly a demonstration of men trying to control women’s fertility. It doesn’t matter how many women play this sport, unless the top teams comply with the need for gender fluidity and inclusivity, then it’s gone.”
