IMMEDIATE SPIKE IN DEMAND FOR GERMAN LESSONS FOLLOWS TRUMP DAVOS SPEECH

DAVOS

THE UNITED STATES President’s Davos comments that Europeans would all be speaking German now if it were not for the Americans, has seen a curious spike in the demand for German lessons across Europe.

“Of course, unlike in the United States, many Europeans speak German anyway, and other languages, it’s quite common, but it’s always good to see an increase in those who want to learn German,” said Herr Wolff, who teaches languages online. “Mr Trump might want to examine the Russian and British and Canadian and Indian and Australian and New Zealand and South African and Brazilian and Yugoslavian and Greek and Polish and Dutch and Belgian and Norwegian – and even the French – contributions to the defeat of Nazi Germany. It was a team effort. And many of those who took part spoke German, which assisted their very dangerous work during the war. Of course, Mr Trump’s family came from Germany, didn’t they? I hesitate to say you’d never guess.”
