THE ANDREW FORMERLY KNOWN AS PRINCE MAY HAVE TO CHOOSE TRIAL BY ORDEAL AS COLLAR FELT BY OLD BILL

LONDON

THE BRITISH PARLIAMENT may reintroduce trial by ordeal if Andrew Mountbatten Windsor ever finds himself before a court following his arrest by police, according to a well-known academic.

“This would permit the former prince to defend himself in combat,” says historian Professor Dan Starkrayve, who has argued for a reintroduction of medieval legal practices to give the law more gravitas than it currently enjoys. “If he won such a combat, he would be innocent; it he lost the embarrassment of his situation would disappear with him. Win-win, I think,” he said. “And it has support in the House of Lords and some positive whispers in the Commons. Maybe Netflix could broadcast it.”
