IT MIGHT BE that President Donald Trump has already given up on *further arms supplies to Ukraine, but the huge demand for vital weapons systems in the current fight with Iran, means that anything that might have found its way to Kyiv by way of European purchase is now earmarked for the Persian Gulf. And the Russians cannot believe their luck.

Particularly in demand are anti-aircraft and anti-missile systems, which meet the missile and drone assaults from the Russians on Ukraine’s infrastructure. If these are no longer available then Vladimir Putin can dissect Ukraine at will. And the more weapons and ammunition used in the Persian Gulf, the less there is for anywhere else.

The Russians are not silent, they are crying with laughter at their good fortune. The Ukrainians are just crying. They plan on talking with the Kurds, and the Afghans, and the South Vietnamese. And the Cambodians.
