BELGRADE, THURSDAY
A UNIVERSITY STUDY has found that the number of crime novels now in existence has passed the number of crimes committed in any one year in the Western World.
“There are actually more crime novels than laboratory rats, which has been the case for decades, but only recently has the number of crime novels overtaken crime statistics in Western countries,” says study author Dr Conan Christie Doyle, of the University of Urnickt in Belgium. “It’s become a problem, like obesity. There’s a gluttony for crime, ironically as life gets safer everywhere in the West, and the stuff being published and sold is now more processed than ever, like junk food. This can have a terrible effect on the human mind. We call it Crimenovelentia.”
