THE #METOO MOVEMENT has been condemned by a leading LGBTQIA+ advocacy group for being stuck in a “rigid male-female gender cage”.

“It’s tragic,” says Helga Spike of FLUID, which champions non-binary gender issues. “#METOO is founded in a stale and backward male-female dynamic which does nothing to further the rights of LGBTQIA+ people.

“Our sympathies are with all those who say they were abused but there is a broader spectrum here and it’s in danger of being forgotten.

“I ask the #MeToo movement to consider changing itself to the #WeToo Movement, to encompass all of that fluidity that is human gender.”

Grammar enthusiasts were immediately on the internet querying whether it should be #UsToo or #WeToo.
